PSSR 2000 Compliance

Does Your Commercial Coffee Machine Require a PSSR Inspection?

Commercial espresso machines can fall within the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR). EspressoForce provides specialist PSSR inspection and compliance support to help keep your equipment safe and compliant.

What is PSSR 2000 — and does it apply to commercial coffee machines?

PSSR stands for the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000. The regulations are designed to prevent serious injury from the failure of pressure systems.

Commercial espresso machines use pressurised steam boilers and, depending on the system, may fall within PSSR 2000. Where the regulations apply, a suitable Written Scheme of Examination must be in place and relevant parts of the pressure system examined by a competent person in accordance with that scheme.

PSSR INSPECTION PROCESS

Your PSSR Inspection — How It Works

01 — Machine & System Identification

02 — Written Scheme Review

03 — Preparation & Examination

04 — Safety Device Checks

We identify the coffee machine, pressure system and relevant protective devices and establish the applicable examination requirements.

The Written Scheme of Examination is checked to determine which parts of the pressure system require examination and the required intervals.

The machine is safely prepared to provide the access required for examination of the pressure system in accordance with the Written Scheme.

Relevant protective devices are examined or tested where required as part of the Written Scheme and examination process.

05 — Examination Report

Following examination, the appropriate report is provided, including the examination findings and any actions or recommendations requiring attention.
